Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information Sitewise collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to the Sitewise iOS app and related services. We designed Sitewise to ask for the minimum data needed to run the product.

1. What we collect

• Account information. Your name, email address, and a hashed password or OAuth identifier from Apple or Google. Optional profile fields (firm, role) you provide during onboarding.
• Site-visit content. Photos, voice recordings + transcripts, sketches, text notes, capture timestamps, and (when you grant location access) GPS coordinates for each capture.
• Device-permission status. Whether you have granted camera, microphone + speech, photo library, and location access. We do not record what you choose to deny.
• Diagnostics. Crash reports and app performance metrics (Apple-collected, subject to your iOS analytics settings). We do not include personally identifiable information in these reports.

2. Permissions and how we use them

• Camera — to take site-visit photos. Required for the core feature.
• Microphone + Speech Recognition — to record voice notes and produce on-device transcripts. Audio is uploaded to your account so reports include it; transcripts are generated on your device.
• Photo Library — only if you opt in, to save a backup copy of each capture to your Camera Roll.
• Location — only while the app is in use, to tag captures with GPS coordinates so a project map can display them. We do not track background location.

3. How we use information

We use the information we collect to:

• provide and improve the Service;
• let you generate, share, and export site-visit reports;
• send transactional emails (sign-up confirmation, password resets);
• respond to support requests you send us;
• detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents.

4. What we do not do

• We do not sell your personal information.
• We do not use your captures to train machine-learning models.
• We do not run third-party advertising trackers in the app.
• We do not access your captures except as needed to run the Service or by your request.

5. Storage and sharing

Captures and account data are stored on Cloudflare infrastructure in the United States. Captures are private to your account; reports you generate are shared only with the recipients you choose. We use a small number of sub-processors (Cloudflare for storage and compute, Apple for App Store delivery and crash reporting). A current list is available on request.

6. Retention

We retain Your Content for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete your captures within 30 days, except where retention is required by law. Backup snapshots are purged within 90 days.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete the personal information we hold about you, and to object to certain processing. You can exercise most of these rights directly in the app or by emailing [email protected]. We will respond within 30 days.

8. Children

Sitewise is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us so we can delete it.

9. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced in the app or by email. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
